November 4, 2014“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” Luke 12:48 (NIV). Last evening as part of our Church Board meeting, we were issued a challenge. An anonymous donor has pledged to match any funds collected from the congregation up to $5,000 to be given to the Nigerian Church of the Brethren (EYN). This means that Maple Grove has the opportunity to send $10,000 to our brothers and sisters in Nigeria. If you are not aware of the trials that they are currently facing, click on the links below. It was stated in the challenge that we are not use any funds that the church currently has, but that these funds need to be raised from the congregation. Special collections will be taken up on November 16th and 23rd. This challenge may not involve videos and people dumping cold ice water on themselves in a hundred different ways, but it can still change lives. What are you being called to give?
